Switching apps to a new phone

I have a Moto X for a personal phone and work just gave us EVOs. I love both of the phones but carrying two 4.3" screen Droids is a bit much.

I have a couple of paid apps on the X such as Smart Keyboard Pro and Launcher Pro Plus. I have switched my Gmail account associated with the X and the paid apps to my work EVO as a second Gmail address.

Is there a way to switch my paid apps to the EVO before I sell my X?

If you have the same gmail account hooked up to each, then the paid apps should transfer over.

I went to the market after switching my gmail over and the app wanted me to pay again. Am I missing something?

I think the problem is that you made your Droid X Gmail as the secondary e-mail instead of making it the primary. See what happens when the Droid e-mail is the only e-mail address on the EVO.

That fixed it. Switched email accounts and now my apps are available.
