Android Lost - Will it work on PAYG phone with no WIFI?
I really don't know much about phones, hence me posting this question here.
Just bought my son a Moto G (on a PAYG contract) and put Android Lost onto it. We've tested it (at home) and it appears to work fine. However, I'm concerned what will happen if/when he loses it for real away from home where it will not have a WIFI connection (eg: middle of a field)?
Is anyone able to explain to me what limitations/requirements Android Lost needs to at the very least tell you the (last) location of the phone? And likewise with its more advanced features (eg: defining a pop up message and taking a pciture)? ie: If it doesn't have a WIFI connection will it still work?
Re: Android Lost - Will it work on PAYG phone with no WIFI?
Well, did some tests, and it seems the app is fine with the phone not being on wifi to work. I was able to track the phone, and fire up pop up messages etc to the phone, without it being on WIFI.
The phone also showed no DATA usage :)
