I recently downloaded where's my driod. I use kaspersky as an anti virus protection. Well it found the app to be a threat. I find that hard to believe since so many people use and live the app, thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Probably flagged it because of the permissions it requires.

Yup. This from the developer's Play Store description:
It is known that some anti-virus apps will flag us as malware. This is due to all the permissions that the app needs to track lost phones. If you contact us with the maker of the anit-virus app we can usually get them to white-list us once we prove to them we are a safe phone tracking app.
