Stock mail app showing duplicate Gmail folders. Help!

I've been experimenting with several email apps, and while I like the stock app, I've found that when I pull up the folder list for my Gmail account, it shows 3 to 4 duplicate copies of each folder (both the standard Gmail ones like Drafts, Sent, etc., as well as the ones for my various filters). Anybody know what might cause this, and if there's any way to make it stop?

(I would use the Gmail app, but I can't access my work email with it.)

maybe try going into apps-->settings--->mail app--->clear data, clear cache and then set up your settings again and re-sync?
