Texting from Laptop

What are y'all using to text from a laptop? I have a Verizon LG G2 and have Verizon Messages on my phone and new i7 Laptop running Windows 8.1 and haven't liked it much. It seems to work ok from my laptop, but when on the phone it is a real pain. Many times when I leave wifi it fails to send, receive and sync correctly. I liked the Verizon app because I didn't have to use a another number and people I text can be on any type of phone. Interested in what the masses are running and how does it work for you?

Verizon Messages should work for you -- if not you can try things like Airdroid or Pushbullet.

Verizon Messages has been good for me on my tablet. I use the stock/Motorola messaging app on my phone though.
