WaveSecure - Security App now on Android!

tenCube, a security application company has released its WaveSecure app for Android recently, for free on the Android market!

WaveSecure allows you to:

1. Lock your Android phone remotely to prevent unauthorized access
2. Track your phone's location and the SIM changes in your phone (even if your phone is not with you!)
3. Backup your contacts, SMS, media and call logs
4. Restore your contacts and SMS
5. Remotely wipe your data on your phone and memory card

They also offer an online account, which you can log into at WaveSecure and remotely control your Android phone!

Although the app is currently in Beta, it works perfectly, and absolutely free of cost!

WaveSecure for Android currently supports v1.5 (Cupcake). It has been officially tested on the HTC Dream and the Magic, and there are user reviews that it works perfectly on the myTouch 3G and the HTC Hero as well.

The FAQ on the website says:
How much it cost to subscribe to WaveSecure?
WaveSecure costs 5 Euros for a 3 month subscription and 15 Euros for a 1 year subscription
So while the app is free it's useless without a subscription?

Hi,

Free for Android really means FREE – subscription doesn’t apply
(So, help spread the word! )

The rates on the FAQ are applicable only to S60 and WM users.

Is it only free while the app is in Beta though?
Oh, and does all the functionality (tracking etc.) work in the UK and other countries or is it just for the US?

We've perfected all the features so far in the Beta, and you can continue using it for free.

Tracking and all other features can be used anywhere in the world, not just the US alone.

I just BOUGHT Mybackup Pro. Thinking about getting a refund since this one (wavesecure) is free and it looks like it has better features like lock phone remotely ,etc.

Does anyone here prefer Mybackup Pro over Wavesecure?

Also, can I back up my data/apps to both? Shouldn't be a problem right?
