App to remotely access videos on computer

I'm currently using an iPhone but I have a Nexus 6p on the way. On my iPhone I use Air Video HD which isn't available on Android. There seems to be clones of it but they don't work with the HD server. I can stream from the Plex app but I don't want o pay for Plex Pass to download. Is there an app that will let me connect to specific folders on my computer to stream and download videos to the phone?

If your PC is connected to a wi fi network all you need is a file explorer that supports WiFi. You can then access your data through shared folders on the network and stream to your device. Good file explorers are xplore or astro
