Android Auto Crashes every 10-15 minutes

Has anybody else experienced this? I have to either unplug it and plug it back in, restart my trip, or if I'm lucky, just hit the home button on my HU and click back on the app. But I still have to restart my trip.
This happens every single time every 10-15 minutes. Very annoying.
I have uninstalled the app and redownloaded it. Still the same thing.
Using a Pioneer Nex-8100.

Mine is doing the same thing (4100). I thought at first it was BeyondPod causing it, but it just got an update and didn't fix the problem. Had Android Auto recently had an update?

Same here. Play Store says last update was May 5. But this just started a few days ago. Maybe a server-side issue on Google's part?

Do you have Clash of Clans installed, by any chance? My problem started after I installed it. I'm going to try removing it to see if it makes a difference.

Android Auto had an update on June 3. Not sure what changed, as there isn't a change log.

However, regarding your issues, what are your vitals?
- phone model and OS revision
- Google Play Services version
- Android Auto version
- versions of Google, Play Music, and Maps apps?

I factory reset my phone yesterday, and still had the problem. I uninstalled Spotify, the only other app integrated with Android Auto, and it seems to have done the trick. I hope. The update to AA the other day sure didn't fix it.

Anybody else still suffering from this? Did the Spotify uninstall do the trick permanently? If so, that sucks...

My wife's S6 does not crash, my Note 4 does crash. We both have Spotify installed.

Sadly, no. Updated to the latest Android version, no change. Uninstalled Beyond Pod, no change. I'm getting really frustrated.

Blerg. I'm on an 8100, FWIW. What phone are you using? I'm on a VZW Note 4.

I wonder if we have an app in common. Running in the background I don't have too much unusual, here are a few things:

- Garmin Connect
- Pioneer AppRadio
- Pebble Time
- LastPass
- SwiftKey

My wife is using SwiftKey too, so I doubt that's it. Although she is still using an older version. Maybe I'll try disabling that to see if it helps.

I also have Facebook Messenger running, but I doubt that's it.

FWIW I nuked swiftkey and also a few other apps. That seemed to help a bit, actually, but it still locked. I thought maybe it was notifications , so I put the phone in airplane mode. Still locked.

I'm running out of things to try...
