Hi all.
New to android auto. I have pioneer head unit and Galaxy s6. If connecting via Bluetooth I can see all contacts but obviously can't control spotify (what I really want). If I connect via wire and go to the phone function I can only see maybe 10 of my 100 plus contacts. Is there something I'm doing wrong somewhere? Is it a setting in the contacts app? Also whatsapp isn't showing but I thought it was supported? Do I need to reinstall apps after android auto has been installed.
I'd be grateful for any pointers.
Thanks

Scratch that!
I've given up and reverted to Bluetooth.
Sometimes things just need to work and I can't be bothered to mess around with the phone trying to persuade it to work

Scrolling in AA is limited to prevent too much screen interaction while driving so maybe that's what you're seeing for contacts. You can use voice command to call a contact and if they call you their contact info will pop up on screen.

For Spotify make sure you have the latest app updates and have logged into your Spotify account on your phone before plugging in.

Thanks. It's all pretty poor to be honest. I can't even get the application to respond to spoken instructions like 'call x' or 'text y'. However when I physically disconnect and instruct via my head unit it works but obviously don't get text notifications that way. Very odd.
Fairly unimpressed, I have an apple which I think I'll just start using instead...my hunch is that Apple will just work!
Can it really be this unfriendly or have I done something wrong? All notifications are on

The contacts you see in AA are limited to your "favorite" contacts, for the scrolling reasons previously mentioned.

When in doubt, use voice.
