I'm a BB Storm 1 user switching to the Incredible. I pre-ordered and should get it tomorrow.
I wanted to see what everyone else who is upgrading (not just for the Incredible, but anyone upgrading phones) plans to do with their phones.
I've considered eBay, but I try to avoid selling on eBay due to the hassles and fees. Not knowing who is really buying from you, and if they are a scam artist or not, puts a lot of hesitation on it for me.
I am attempting to sell on my own on another technical forum. I would sell on Crackberry's forums, but I don't have enough posts over there to qualify.
If I fail at selling it on my own, I plan to use Gazelle to sell the phone.
For those not in the know, Gazelle offers a flat price for your device based on condition. They then resell it (I think on eBay, usually). So obviously they are undercutting you, but at the same time they assume all the risk.
I sold an old digital camera to them a few months ago and everything went great.
My Storm 1 is in excellent condition. Right now Gazelle is offering me $83 with free shipping to take it off my hands. I figure that's a pretty good deal. At least I consider it a good deal for a "backup" offer in case I don't sell it on my own.
Please note: if you end up using Gazelle through the link above, I do earn a small referral fee ($10) if you sell more than $50 in items. I talked with Cory (one of the forum moderators) and got permission to post this... so please don't flame me. I think Gazelle is a valuable service for reusing/recycling old phones that also helps you offset the cost of your new phone purchase.
How are you planning to get rid of your old phone and make money doing it?
