I was there, but I am OK. Aurora 2012
There were two theater rooms showing Batman . I was in the other one. All of a sudden we heard gun shots and people screaming. Then someone ran in and yelled to get out . People ran for the normal exit. i headed for the doors behind the screen. After people saw me a bunch started to follow. I doubt it. There are too many people out here that won't do it. then if the judge over rules the jury, there is still going to be 20 years of court battles before they can even attempt to put him to death. I say his punishment should be 5 minutes with the 6 year old who died Father. During that time nothing counts .

Glad to see you're okay. I feel terrible for those injured in the theatre. This is exactly why my one friend who's a police officer brings his weapon to a lot of public outings. It only takes one sick person to ruin it all. I couldn't imagine being so close yet so far away from the tragedy as you were.
Also, sadly, the death penalty costs more than life in prison. I'm not sure how many people realize this though. I consider rotting away in jail far more punishment than sentencing him to death. Every day waking up in a cell and being controlled.
