Nah, the bird represent the American Bald Eagle and the military strength of the Republican Party while the pigs represent pork barrel spending of the Democrats. Or maybe the birds are the Peregrine Falcons of the UAE and the pigs represent the hippopotamus found in the African nations which are increasingly being used for oil production. But the pigs are green, perhaps it's all a diatribe against Dr. Seuss' green ham?
I think you're stretching things a bit, I've learned long ago that most of the time when one tries to analyze something we can learn a lot more about the person doing the analysis than we do about the subject. Considering the publisher is European, that the majority of countries have birds as their national symbol, and that it's really just a cheap knockoff of Worms I'd say we can safely assume it's just a game and not a political statement.

Sometimes a bird squashing a pig is just a bird squashing a pig!
Some say that his dormant chips were left that way for YOUR SAFETY... Others say that once "turned on," he can not be turned off... All we know is... He's called The Stig.
