Here is my dream phone:

  1. Big but not huge (no more than 5.7 inches)
  2. Metal and Glass where possible
  3. 1080 x 1920 pixels max
  4. Replaceable Battery
  5. Dedicated microSD Slot
  6. Fast CPU and lots of memory
  7. "Samsung Style" dedicated physical buttons
  8. Stock Android (No Touch Wiz or extra GUI)
  9. No bloatware
Here is the most important point: I want the fastest CPU I can have, but not a resource hungry display. I hate how phones get faster processing power, but then that power gets used up by more demanding displays, and a bunch of bloatware.

I want a superfast phone that looks "good enough".

Also I hate batteries that you can't remove, and no microSD slots. That is total nonsense.

What is your Dream Phone?

Pretty much the same, but ...

3GB of memory (RAM) is enough for a while, but I'd like lots of storage.

I don't care what launcher a phone comes with, if it's mine it gets Nova.

Since I normally run rooted, bloatware isn't much of a problem. (I'm a software junkie, and I still have loads of free space on a Note 3.)

I would like either an S-Pen or someplace to store a stylus.

Everything else you want, I want. Non-replaceable battery, no SD slot, not for me.

The Project Ara phone would be nice - if they ever made one.

For me:
Big but not huge (no more than 5.7 inches) -- Bigger but not huge, 5.7" to 6"
Metal and Glass where possible -- Eco-friendly would be a nice change, but I'm over metal & glass (especially "all" glass)
1080 x 1920 pixels max -- QHD (2,560x1,440) or nothin' --Samsung-style Super AMOLED (or better) preferred
Replaceable Battery -- OK, but not a deal breaker if the battery lasts a full day for me
Dedicated microSD Slot -- OK, but not a deal breaker
Fast CPU and lots of memory -- Sure. Whatever current flagship level is.
"Samsung Style" dedicated physical buttons -- Onscreen only, pliz
Stock Android (No Touch Wiz or extra GUI) -- Sure, but I also go Nova, so...
No bloatware -- For sure and unlocked is even better

Also add:
1. punchy front-firing speakers
2. really excellent radios that catch and hold on to any usable signal
3. all-around good audio set-up (DAC, microphones, speakerphone, earpiece, whatever it takes)
4. a decent (6P-level) camera

So we're looking at something like an updated Nexus 6 or an updated HTC One Max. Build it and I will come buy it.

Ok let's just start with the Note 7 and come up with some type of Gorilla Glass that won't break so I can rock it naked. Also it would also not be so slippery. While we're at it I would like the biggest screen I have could possibly hold with one hand, which would be a 6 in. bezelless curved edge 4K display. Oh return my IR blaster. I can live without a removable battery as long as I have fast and fast wireless charging. And as long as we're talking dreams give me a projector on top with loud speakers. That's about it on the hardware side. Software I'd like it to do everything imaginable including read my mind.

The thing is such a phone could be easily made and sold today for $300-350 and still make a profit from each unit sold.

These threads are always fun to read because everything is so subjective. So how about this:

One that works without lag and built truly durable. I don't mean using gimmicky terms like being designed to military drop specs. I mean show us real torture tests. Make the USB ports and cables last the life of the phone. Heck, go back to proprietary power systems for all I care, those cables never wore out! Give them more strength, even if it means being thicker/heavier, so we don't have to worry about them being bent over time. Stuff like that. Design the phone for the long term, not something to be thrown away after a year or two because some other piece of eye candy came out.

I will be in the minority here, but...

- a BlackBerry running a dual software of BB OS and Android; having the option to use Android or BlackBerry themes or UI (ie, can turn the Hub off and on; or use the drop down notification tray)
- 5.5" with a slide out physical keyboard (the screen itself is 5.5")
- removable battery
- a camera on par with Samsung
- access to Play Store
- BB security updates on par with the PRIV
- comes in an array of colours: black, white, blue, purple, pink

I'd really really like Nokia to begin producing their gorgeous recent giant phones again, but running Android...

Or to buy out the rights to update Palm OS... I really loved the Palm Pre line, but with a bit bigger screen & way better battery life...

For me..... a Note 7, or whatever it will be called, that doesn't catch fire. I really felt that the Note 7 was a superior phone.

Well I'm replying to you on that right now. It's called a Note 7. Nothing's wrong with the phone except Google tried to sabotage it. Mine still charges to 100% and everything works just fine including Samsung Pay.
