The new screen king of the hill: HTC's 5" 1080p SLCD3 and the upcoming IGZO

With the ousting of the J-Butterfly, we have a new King of screens: The SLCD3. A closer look into the new screen:

It is a new CG-S panel by sharp. It just went into production less than a week ago. It allows for better color reproduction, lower power consumption, smaller physical screen size, and of course, higher pixel density. It increases translucency, which lowers the amount of backlight needed, thus lower power consumption. However, this is not the upcoming IGZO tech that Sharp demoed earlier this year (basically further benefits - even lower power consumption)... But it's still great.

Can't wait to see some detailed comparisons.

This sounds fantastic! I really like Apple's (well...LG and Samsung's) retina displays, but I can't stand iOS. This sounds like it's going to blow them away!
