Does towelroot work in the android l decolper preview?

I thought it was for 4.4.4.

Well, the exploit used concerned the kernel itself and privilege escalation, so unless the kernel was updated with a patch in the L release, it should still work.

I heard in early June of this year, there was a patch to negate this method of rooting.

No it won't. Towelroot only works on kernel builds dated prior to June 3rd. L has a kennel build date of June 11th.

Dang it! I really want to be able to do one tap root without wiping all my data by having to unlock the bootloader. Psy I guess I was spoiled by towelroot. Let's just hope the root breakage commits in aosp don't make it to the final build.
