Not my petition, but I thought I'd share it with AC. I don't know how much of a message it'll send, but we should let Apple know that we don't want them to ban our phones!

Get your friends to sign it to! Apple should know that sensible human beings, both iFans and Fandroids, aren't looking to ban someone else's personal choice in electronics!

Not that I wouldn't love to see the lawsuits stop, but this petition will do absolutely nothing. Steve Jobs will come back as a minotaur and give oral to a unicorn before we see Apple lay off on the lawsuits.

The reality of what a threat Android is to Apples market share couldn't be more clear.

At one time, they virtually lost to the PC and Microsoft. They aren't about to sit by and let that happen again.

No matter what they do they will lose market share. But, it will not come without a fight.

I own multiple different apple products, although I choose to use the Galaxy Nexus because it is superior to the iPhone. I have to say, however, that I am disgusted with Apple's lawyer happy approach to almost everything. It gets old, and discourages innovation, such as the innovation at Hewlett Packard and Xerox that apple was inspired by back in the day.

That being said, I feel apple has a right to protect itself here and there when warranted, but they've carried it to an extreme.

Simply put, Apple is out of control at this point in my opinion with their lawsuits. It's a shame that Xerox, or HP don't file suit against them for the numerous products they have designed based off of their ideas and concepts.

Exactly. HP needs to jump in and teach this young company some manners. HP has done so much in their existence of 50 years or more. I did a capstone project on HP and going through their timeline of pure innovation they could easily put all these tech companies on their knees with the same kind of behavior Apple is demonstrating. I just think its childish and they need to learn some humility. I agree it is a clear sign if them being scared but this isnt the best strategy to limit the loss of marketshare.

What about IBM? Bring in the big guns and let's see how almighty apple is. Motorola can come too since its about cellphones.

Reminds me of when Johnny Carson let Jay Leno host his show here and there, and then gave it to Leno when he retired. Leno came in like the new prince in town, fired most (if not all) of the staff, and then copped a major snotty attitude about who really helped to get him there. It almost pained him to mention Carson or Ed McMahon's names. It's jus so insecure, and people really forget amd become ungrateful. Read the biography of Steve Jobs, amd you'll see a man that was very socially awkward and angry. Nobody is perfect, but I sure hate to see apple carry on this legacy

Between my wife and I we own: an iMac, 2 iPads, an iPhone, iPod Touch, and an iPod. I read the Jobs biography. He was absolutely and vehemently obsessed with Google's copying aspects of OSX, and probably rightly so. There are many similarities IMO. And in the book he said that Apple would spend every cent they had to sue Google all over town until they stopped. He said he'd never settle for money, they had to stop. If you read the book he was weird in that way. He would never let anyone buy/use Apple's software (he turned down many chances to make money doing that), it had to go with their devices. Now that he's dead who knows how this will play out. Google does copy their stuff though, anyone who uses both would have to agree. Look at how the GN Gallery has a little filmstrip of your photo thumbnail running along the bottom of the screen. Exact copy of iPhoto.
