I have an HTC One M8 on VZW, but don't have tethering on my plan so I tried out foxfi - seems to work good as I can bring my nexus 7 WiFi and tether no problem..but... How does foxfi actually work? I believe it's something like this:
Foxfi is an app that creates a VPN connection to... Somewhere... Thus allowing you to use foxfi to connect to my phone via Wi-Fi and then use carrier data via VPN - bingo! Tethering without paying!
But... Where is the other end of this VPN? What is it doing? I have no illusions that carriers and big bro monitors everything we do but until I can determine the target of the foxfi VPN tunnel, I'm concerned... Am I just paranoid? Anyone know the answer to this riddle? Does anyone care?
