I recently downloaded Adobe Flash to my Nexus 7 so I can watch videos from Facebook
But it got a malware. That Malware stopped me from downloading any app in Google Play Market
So I was forced to download via dropbox files. So there I spotted the Virus called " NETWORKING" with a signal logo as its Icon.
I was unable to find it when I used Avira, DR. Web, AVG and other scanners. It took me TWO scans from Norton before I was able to locate it and delete it. The question is now that I have deleted it or uninstalled it from my nexus 7 tablet. does it mean my tablet is safe already? i already scanned it dozen of times and it seems to be off my nexus 7 tablet. Its just unusual how an app would squeeze in or hide the adobe Flash app. when I downloaded it... Any thoughts? Thanks

Use lookout. And I really doubt you got a bug. Probably just a pop up ad. I've been using flash and no issues.

Where did you download Adobe Flash from? If it came from Adobe's servers it should not carry any malware.

Well that isn't adobe flash. Flash isn't available on the market. Also those scanners are just going to make your device worse. I still stand by you didn't get malware.

Since we are talking anti-virus, Would it make a difference if s/he are scanning the device, attached to a PC via USB, from a windows based PC verses scanning the device using an android based scanner on the device itself.

Which is better?

I don't believe in anti virus on a android. Those software company's are fear mongering. Theres tons of article proving that. I just use look out and Google has a built in scanner.

Well, I don't have a virus, but for the naysayers out there, Adobe products have been the favorite software programs that virii writers and hackers use for infecting. It's been that way for the last few years.

And there is no adobe flash player for past year. There is a archived version at adobe. But they don't support mobile platform any more. And when kit kat arrives flash will stop all together.

Ok, now I don't want Kit Kat on my N7 2013. Can I disable OS update notifications?

Were you responding to me? I know there isn't a flash player anymore, and truthfully, there's no NEED for a flash player anymore. It should have died off with the T-Rex imo.

Just refuse updates...It's not like a smartphone where the carrier is going to force it down your throat eventually.

No, but they can make my life a hell.

I don't have to buy Geico insurance. I don't have to buy viagra. I don't have to update my adobe reader or windows on my PC.
But they keep asking! Stop asking! Stop the madness!!

I don't have to put it down my throat, but it's ALWAYS in front of my face.

I wouldn't trust a Windows virus scanner to spot an Android virus.

actually I found it very unusual, that when i searched for the keyword ADOBE. The ADOBE FLASH icon was located way down the search list.. I got the flash from market. i know it was Flash in the Market. I wasnt drunk that time. not to notice. anyway. Scanned it. and used norton. hopefully its deleted.. what does a malware do to your tab by the way?

In theory all the sites that used to stream video in flash will migrate to another format. Think of it like this: when the world moved away from horse powered transportation all the Barns/ carrige houses in the cities were replaced by parking lots/garages.
