Tell me this has happened to you before..
I wake up one morning to check my phone and find that my security pattern isnt working. I hadn't changed it. I go to enter the back up pin, and it didnt work. Again, I hadn't changed it. After all this fails, I go to login with my Google account, and WTF my password has been changed!!! Eventually, I discover that my pin had been defaulted to 0000, and Im able to log into google on my laptop, thus regaining access to my phone and my account but why did this happen?
I know there have been some security issue with Google and the whole "Heartbleed" thing, but is it possible that if someone hijacks your Google account that it could compromise your mobile security as well, specifically, your phone lock?
If anyone can shed some light on this and advise on how to defend against this kind of thing, it'd be greatly appreciated.
