So my moto 360 counts my bumpy commute in my jeep wrangler as steps. Is there a way to prevent this? I have a feeling that the answer is no but thought I'd check. My fitbit never had an issue with this.

No. My Moto 360 did that along with my Gear S and Gear 2. There is no way to adjust it. Fitbit accuracy is way better. I even did an analysis to see if there was no correlation between the Fitbit verses the Moto 360. The accuracy percentage varied from 95% to 80% and there was no correlation between the number of times I did high intensity exercise verses low intensity so, now I pretty much use the Fitbit for accuracy. Although, when I see 7000 steps on my Moto 360 I know that my Fitbit will be around 10K

Yeah, Google Fit bites. It records bumps like yours, but completely ignores my one-hour runs. I stopped using it.
