You Have Been Banned Message on 10/26

At approximately 11:30 AM PDT 10/26/2011 we experienced an issue where some accounts were mistakenly flagged as being banned. As shown in the screenshot below, the ban reason says "No reason was specified"

These bans were not a result of any moderator nor Administrator action. Rather, it was a glitch in our system. Legitimate bans will always specify a reason. This problem was resolved quickly, but I'm sure those affected were surprised by this message.

I apologize for this and will continue to identify and fix the root cause to ensure it doesn't happen again.

I just signed up as a memeber and tried to post to a thread and was instantly banned!

I figured it was a glitch but still I did wonder a little what in the world I had just posted that would result in a ban.

I wasn't banned... but when I logged on and it told me I had to read this post, which came up on my screen as starting "You Have Been Banned..." - I was starting to become a little scared...

I was temporarily banned. scared the crap out of me. Submitted a "site bug report" and received an email back from Phil Nickleson that it was an oopsie. Whew. Couldn't figure out what I had done to get banned, and couldn't figure out what I was going to do when I was supposed to be working...
