Forum thread instead of comments

Why doesn't AC just link to a new forum thread after each blog post? That way, at least there would be some notification of response, tracking & easy participation via desktop and mobile (thanks to Tapatalk).

The current commenting system still has no notifications whatsoever.

Might as well use forum threads, imho.

It's a great idea (I would be ecstatic to implement this), but it's easier said than done.

Granted, I don't know the inner workings of your infrastructure.

Disable the commenting system for each new post.
Create a private thread & activate the thread when the story is published.
Rock on...

Those of us that live in the forums have been wanting this for quite a while.

Some way of auto populating the blog comments with forums posts, and forum posts with blog comments would be awesome. That way it can be one continuous conversation no matter where people post their thoughts.

Exactly. It would also make support/troubleshooting MUCH easier.
