Ads on forum

I believe th I s just started to happen.. Ads at both the top and bottom of the page in the forum thread.. however the top ad is actually covering or blocks functions of that page or thread. Hoow do I get rid of the top ad thats blocking forum functions. ( Ad Choices )

It wasnt that way the other day...can you explain whats going on. Is AC going to fix it? Theres one at the top that blocks functions..the one at the bottom doesnt block anything
Their both Ad Choices. I dont want to see the Ad at the top. Its blocking vital functions of the forum page.

It's probably because you have new messages on AC that it's pushing the ad down. I have the ads but it's not cutting off functions.

What a crock of baloney..its only blocking stuff in portrait mode. IN landscape its fine.. its not blocking anything.. why do we need ads at the Top AND the bottom.? This just started. I copied the screenshot to the earlier post.

Clear off your private messages and it'll stop overlapping.

I dont have any new ones but....where are the controls to delete pm's cant find it on the forum using the note2

I went into control panel and private messages.. there is no "Delete Button" that I can find.

If your using the Mobile view of the forums I know its a little wonky ATM. Administration is aware of it and has it on the to do list with plenty of good things coming. I would recommend either using the full desktop view from your browser or using the AC App to visit the forums for now.

Thanks for this. I'm going to go in and adjust the mobile template accordingly to fix the overlap issue.

James, its still the same. Someone said to clear out my Private Messages. That because of them its pushing the ad down. I tried.. I have no delete button. Am giving you permission to do so on my behalf if you want. This just started the other day...so im dumbfounded, dont understand what one (pm's) would have to do with the other. Its happening in Portrait Mode. In landscape its not doing that.
As always I appreciate the efforts and quality site AC including staffing is to me.

LOOK at your screen shot and the one I posted. The ONLY difference is you have a red-fonted notification at the top for new PMs. THAT is what's causing the ad bar to be pushed down and overlap the functions on your page. READ your NEW messages, which should get rid of the notification, and fix the problem for you.

BeRich...I cant remove the 7 pm's.. they are all "Open" and there is no delete button so I cant remove them. I emailed James Falconer giving him permission to do so for me. The Red Highlighted " You've got new Private Messages" has been there forever.. since I got my Note 2. Dont know what to do. I hope someone will help me out from the AC staff. Its not a problem in landscape mode..only Portrait. Thank you for your help

I've modified this to work better in portrait layout... Instead of 'You Have New Private Messages'... the text now reads, 'New Messages'.

Please let me know if this fixes the problem. If so, I'll go in and modify our other mobile templates as well, I have a feeling others are experiencing the same wrap issue!

James...it worked fine.......very strange..I cant remove my private messages..there is no delete button to be found. Can you delete them for me? You have my permission to do so.

Larry,

I've been doing some testing on the previous issue you were having with private messages.

When you have a new PM, the mobile template will display a 'New Messages' link. This makes it quick and easy to access your PM's. However, after you've read the new message, this goes away.

To access your PM's to send or read messages when you do NOT have the 'New Messages' link active... simply click the 'User CP' link at the top, and then 'Private Messages'. This takes you back to your PM's, where you can read, reply and write messages. Hope this helps!

Looking into the lack of 'delete' button in the mobile forums at the moment. Please use the desktop version of the site to delete your PM's for now... will let you know when resolved!

honestly I could not care less about the ads at the top/bottom, in posts etc but as soon as they start popping up where you need to close them, that just messes up the whole forum experience. I hope these new ads will get removed as it makes me not wan to come back & find another android forum

FYI, a 'delete' button should now be available in the mobile template when viewing PM's... I need to style the button a bit to match, but the functionality is there!
