Glass Batteries

I've been reading a lot over the past month or so about glass batteries. They supposedly charge faster, have a higher capacity and are safer than Li-Ion batteries. They were also introduced by the guy that introduced the Li-Ion battery.
Do you think this is something we could see in mass production soon or is it just another BEST NEW BATTERY EVER! that we've been hearing about for the past couple of decades that never sees the light of day?
