Samsung Galaxy S3 Help

AC Question

My phone turned itself off whilst listening to music earlier and won't turn back on or connect to my PC. I've tried using a different battery and turning it on in download mode but nothing. I took it to a phone repair shop and was told it was most probably a software issue and could only be fixed by wiping everything on the phone and that there was no way to save anything on it. I'm due a new phone in August so I'm not all that bothered about the phone working but I've got a lot of important information and photos and videos from the last 2 years on it that I don't want to lose. Is there anything I could do to either a) fix the phone without wiping it or b) take the phone apart (even if it breaks it) to access the phone's memory? Everything is stored on the internal memory and stupidly I've never backed it up.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
