Default A portion of my screen is not responding.

the top portion of my screen is not responding, the rest of the screen works including the swipe down menu but the portion just below it does not. For instance when I'm in the messaging app I cannot click on the magnifying glass to search, or the settings. when I'm on the home screen I can't click on the top row of apps. I haven't dropped or damaged my screen in any way, and it was working earlier. I've tried to recalibrate my screen and restarted it and it is still having problems. Any Advice?

Welcome to Android Central! What phone do you have? If you open an app that goes into landscape mode, does the exact same area remain insensitive? If so, I would think it's a hardware problem. Consider taking it to a repair shop, or contacting the manufacturer for warranty repair (if applicable).
