retrieve my messages

I messaged back and forth alot last night but now I can't go back to the earlier messages from last night to read again please someone help me. Christy

Is there anything in the message app or was it deleted? The default message app usual has a limit where it starts automatically deleting unless you turn that feature off... So if you didn't you may be out of luck.
