Default Unable to write to SD card

I just finished rooting my Galaxy S5 phone in hopes of being able to write to my 64G micro SD card. But it still will not write to it. After rooting the phone, I downloaded 2 root checkers. One says my phone is rooted and one says it is not. Now what? I have formatted the SD card in the phone and it completed and the phone sees it but none of my programs will write to it including the built in file explorer. I need some help. Thanks
