If the phone is faulty the seller ought to fix or replace it, or refund you.

Someone mentioned clearing the cache with a certain program, I think clock mod. This program requires a rooted phone. I, however, don't want to root my phone. I've gotten my LG G3 to accept my after market battery by leaving the phone without a battery in it for about an hour or overnight. I put it back in and it takes it. If you turn off your phone or restart it you may get the "invalid battery" message again. It will charge while its on. It won't charge while its off.

I use this battery at the beginning of the day. If for some reason, something happens, I simply switch the battery out for another battery that the phone always accepts like the OEM one. The replaceable battery is one reason I bought the LG G3 phone. I have two Trendon aftermarket batteries and only one of them gives me the invalid battery message.

    Hope this helps someone!

Clearing the cache doesn't require an app. Settings/General/Storage/Cache. Wait for Cache to finish calculating before pressing it. Press it and you'll be given the choice of clearing the cache or canceling. Why anyone would write an app to clear cache is beyond me (unless it's to extract money from noobs). You could always clear cache from recovery if you wanted to bother restarting twice.

Factory reset fix my invalid battery problem.

Remove battery and put it back.

Hold power and volume up at the same time. Quick release and hold back the power button when LG logo appear.
This should go to LG factory reset. Then answer yes on both question.

I looked all over for a fix for this invalid battery error and I found so many (in the 1000's) of people having the same issue. Seems to me LG should address this issue as so many having this problem. They can't say "O it's the battery" because I have 3 of them, one being brand new.

Mine only gives error at boot up. I did get it to boot by plugging in usb and then holding power and down volume till I got the safe boot screen then selecting usb debug and it booted. I'm not going to try it again, untill I get a new battery and then only if it don't boot. Good luck I know I wanted to chuck it out the window today.

I got the regular ZeroLemon battery (not the extended life one) for my LG Optimus G Pro E985 and on its first week it was working fine but lately my phone's been showing me the invalid battery message after fully charging and turning the phone off and turning it on again. Removing the ZeroLemon battery, putting it back in and turning the phone on doesn't seem to work as after about 10 seconds or so, the phone will show the annoying invalid battery message again and the phone shuts down on its own shortly after. So what I did was put in my old battery, turn the phone on and leave the old battery in for like a minute, then turn it off, replace it with the ZeroLemon battery, then turn it on again and that seems to solve the problem. However, I realized that I have to do this whole ritual every time I charge my ZeroLemon battery and it can be quite a pain. IDK of any other alternative to get rid of the invalid battery message and it sucks BIG TIME
