    Default Update killed my phonebook

my HTC one had an adroid update the other night which, beyond annoyingly changing the system colours, for some odd reason decided to unlink all of my phone numbers from their (once) related entries. now i have a phonebook that's nothing but numberless names and facebook accounts and a message folder that's a bunch of texts from nameless numbers.

what the devil was this update meant to do?

You may want to try removing the various accounts from your phone (like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), and then adding them back again. This might make the People app reset its database correctly.
