Hard call to make without having the device but getting down to basics.

If the version of CM your flashing is SPECIFICALLY built for your exact version of device (region/carrier) then it should boot and work fine per CM's instructions if its an official build by the CM maintainers. If your flashing a build that isn't done by the official CM maintainers then your basically rolling the dice and hoping that whoever compiled and built the ROM and kernel package has done it correctly for your specific make of device.

I would check with CM's site and see if they have an official build for your device. They might offer more details and/or something that you could be missing to get it booting.
