S5 email update lag time

[AC Question]

I just got a galaxy s5 and, although I have a wi fi system in my home which updates email real time on my IPAD,
My s5 does not update my email while I'm at home with my wi fi system and will not until I leave home and then, due to some unknown event, updates randomly.
Is this a android issue?
