Please help!!!! My s3 wont turn on or charge!!!

After last night, charging my phone, I got up this morning and tried to get on my phone and it would not turn on even though plugged up. It gets to the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" screen and shuts off. When I plug my phone up to the charger it gets to the battery screen, but shortly after shuts off and will not turn back on. I am not rooted or running any customs roms. My model number is sgh-i747. I am on at&t also if that helps. My phone is running android 4.4.2 kitkat.

Welcome to Android Central! First thing to try is a new battery, since batteries can fail at any time if they're defective. Another thing would be to remove the microSD card, since a corrupted card and cause problems.
