i got a situation

A

AC Question

here's the deal:

i have an udp on my primary line, non-udp for my wife's iphone.

3 weeks ago, i ordered a new phone (gs5) under my wife's contract as she was eligible for an upgrade. once received, i then took the sim card out of my gs3 and put it in the new gs5, thus obtaining a new phone while keeping my udp in tact.

this past weekend i cracked the screen. i am still under the return period for the new phone and wanted to see if there was a way to maybe exchange it for a new one without losing my udp. possible? i have an asurion coverage plan, and i guess i could go that route. Thoughts?

Hello. I am not completely clear. You have an unlimited plan with your own sim. If the S5 has a cracked screen but is still working, you could factory reset it. Put your wife's sim in, set it up, and then see about an insurance claim. I am sure they are not bothered who uses the phone.

I think you would have to go with the insurance route anyway. The return/exchange is more for either not being satisfied with the device or the device is internally defective.

Once the device is damaged, they most likely won't take it back.
