s4 google play advertiseing

when I turn on the S4 9 [ from sleep] I will ocasionally get a game advert from Google pay and I want to turn this off

Welcome to Android Central! You probably installed an app that carries adware. You could try installing something like Lookout's Ad-Network Scanner & Detector to see if it can identify any app that is connected to an ad network. Otherwise, you may have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior goes away. Before installing new apps, always scan the reviews on Google Play to see if anyone complains of adware. Remember, adware is not illegal, since it isn't considered to be overtly malicious. So you have to watch out for it yourself, and can't rely on Google to weed those apps out from the Play Store.
