Default Speeds between prepaid and say Tmobile

Went to Cricket's website. Shows max 8 download speed. $45 a month for 2.5 gig. Right now I use an Iphone 4 and I think that is 3 g. Any upgrade would help

Am I doing myself a disservice to go to the Cricket rather than say Tmobile and paying a bit more. $45 at Cricket is taxes and all, and I am guessing Tmobile is $50 and then taxes.

I use less than a gig most months of data on Sprint as it is.

If there is no obligation to Cricket after a month, why not try it? If you sign a contract, I would carefully consider it.
