    Hello!

I hope it is ok that I posted in this section and that I do not break any rules, since I am new here. Should I break any, I am sorry in advance.

As the title states, I am having problems searching for Wi-Fi networks with a Galaxy S3. The problem started only after updating to 4.3. The peculiar thing is that the phone CAN and WILL use saved wifi networks or those that have been manually saved, by typing their SSID and their passwords.
The phone won't display any other wifi names than thr ones that are saved DESPITE the fact that it says that it's found some. It simply won't show them. Funny thing is that I can see those networks with programs such as wi-fi manager, but I can't seem to save them.
I tried factory resetting my phone, but the problem returned after 1 and a half months.
Please help me as it is extremely annoying not to be able to properly use wi-fi.
    Thank you in advance.

There are various apps that will search for wifi hotspots. Perhaps try one and see whether it identifies the ones it finds.

Thank you for your reply, I have tried Wi-Fi Manager.
But I still can't understand why the phone's own wi-fi app doesn't work. What could I do to it?

    Perhaps B.Diddy's guide will help:

Hello and thank you for your reply, but I am afraid that guide hasn't helped me.

It has to be some sort of a software bug, something about the wi-fi scanning app included in the Touchwiz ROM. It hasn't happened in Android 4.1.2 , only on 4.3 and it is very annoying.
What can I possibly do about it?( except factory reset)
I even tried resetting or clearing cache, but nothing.
