Is this possible or not?

I have a very simple question: My impression is that gmail decides whether to send an email you receive to your inbox or to spam, and that decision is implemented in the exact same way whether you view your emails on a PC or on a smart phone. In other words you, the user, can't control the decision gmail makes, you can't have a person's emails sent to your inbox on your PC but to spam on your phone. That could never happen, either deliberately or inadvertently, am I correct?

VW Maverick thank you for your response.
I was very amused by the "geek" version of "I am rubber, you are glue...." at the bottom of your post. You reminded me of this very clever one by Isaac Asimov that was his response to a popular song in his era. Have you ever seen this? The first verse below is the quote from the song, then Asimov's response.

Tell me why the stars do shine,
Tell me why the ivy twines,
Tell me what makes skies so blue,
And I'll tell you why I love you.

Nuclear fusion makes stars to shine,
Tropisms make the ivy twine,
Raleigh scattering make skies so blue,
Testicular hormones are why I love you.
