I dropped my htc in a sink full of water and afterwards it worked for about three hours it wouldent even budge to turn on need help or suggestions on what to do !!!

They say to put it in a zip lock full of rice and leave it for 24hrs. You should have powered it off immediately. Goodluck

Welcome to Android Central, and sorry to hear about the mishap! I don't believe the M8 was ever advertised as waterproof or water resistant, unlike the Samsung S5 or the Sony Z1 and Z2.
Did you do the usual thing of putting the phone in a ziploc bag of uncooked rice and sealing the bag, letting it sit for about 24 hrs?
