    Default gps locator

Our family has always had iphones, but my son just bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. We have often used our "find my iphone" feature to see check in on our children without bothering them. We worry about texting them when they are driving, so this feature comes in handy when it's late at night and they haven't made it home yet. Do Androids have a similar feature? I don't want to lock his phone or send him any text messages. I just use it for piece of mind.

Welcome to Android Central! There are a number of ways to do it on Android. Two I can think of off the top of my head are the Android Device Manager (a built-in part of the system), which allows you to locate your device and also remotely wipe it if it's been stolen, and using the Google+ location sharing feature (https://support.google.com/plus/answer/2998354?hl=en)
