unfortunately settings has stopped

[AC Question]

I have an LG and i'm trying to add an email account. I am in settings>accounts & sync, when I click ADD ACCOUNT, I get the error message "unfortunately, settings has stopped". Help please

Welcome to Android Central! What LG phone do you have? Does this persist after a reboot?

i just restarted , no change.

Strange problem. There might be something you installed that is interfering. Try booting into Safe Mode by holding the Vol Down button while powering on. Keep the Vol Down button pressed until you get to the unlocked screen. If this works, Safe Mode should temporarily disable all 3rd party apps that you installed. If the problem persists, then there's an issue with your hardware or firmware.
