samsung s4 unlock

Hi. I'm trying to unlock my s4 from O2 as I've switched to EE. I've tried using the service menu way but I can't get passed the service menu after key input 1. It's the GT 505 on 442. I've seen a way on utube but I've to root it in order to use the app. I just want to know if you can advise the best way for me to unlock it please. Thanks

The best way would probably be to call your former carrier and ask them to unlock it.
