So I have always been a contributor an know forum etiquette. Its important to contribute before you ask. Yet am new to the android world and need to help the girl with a dead nexus 5

Long story short it dropped 5 floors an wont start up anymore

She has pix very imp to her she needs recovered. No she didn't backup anywhere

I have a feeling the pix are still in the memory. Can anyone assist with how I could help her recover them?
Many thanks

I'm pretty sure u can plug it into a computer by usb & retrieve them that way. I'm not sure of all the steps, but they should be under a file named DCIM or something similar.

As dctokyo mentioned, you're out of luck if the phone doesn't turn on. Technically they are retrievable, but it's usually just OEMs that have access to the software/hardware required to do so.

Next time, she can use services like Dropbox or Google + to automatically back up her photos and videos in case anything were to happen again.
