Ever since I installed Kies3, my Galaxy S3 has been unable to connect to my PC running Win 7 professional. I have uninstalled Kies, uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung drivers, done soft resets, checked cables, checked ports. Always the same error message. Your USB device is not recognized. The USB icon does not appear in the phone, but it charges. (You can't access MTP when the icon doesn't appear.) In Device manager under properties there is no Hardware ID. I can connect the phone to my lap top and to another desk top. Neither have the most recent Samsung driver. Phone has latest Android version (4.3). I asked Samsung if they have a website to download older drivers, but they said no. They also said they were unaware of this issue which seems odd since many people seem to have the same thing. Any ideas?? This has taken way to much time to solve. Yes, I can transfer files with Bluetooth, etc, but this annoys me.
