Lost phone Samsung Galaxy S2 - accessing Android Device Manager

A

AC Question

Hi,

I lost my Samsung Galaxy S2 9210. Need 2 clarifications:
1. While I understand that ADM gives the option to set up a message on screen lock, the option is not coming up when I sign in to ADM. I get only 2 options ie. Ring, Set Up Lock & Erase. (While I see from various articles on the web that set up lock & erase are 2 different options)
The lost phone looks like is switched off. When I clicked on the option Set Up Lock & Erase, I got a pop up message stating "Notification Sent". I did not get a window to enter the message for call back if found.
2. Would also like to know what would happen to the device since i had clicked on "Set Up Lock & Erase". Will all content on the device get automatically erased and will the device get locked or will i get some intimation on gmail when the phone is switched on??
3. The location of the device is unavailable when searched through ADM.
Would be really glad if you could clarify.

Never had to use Device Manager. I would guess that since the device is off that is why you are getting that message.

Another possibility is the device was reset.
