    What is the meaning of boot and why we boot our device give me information about that process please and thanks

    Boot basically means to turn the device on.

    Very very old term in the IT world. I remember it as far back as the IBM 360 days.

    From a phrase 'to pick one's self up by their bootstraps'. The term was originally bootstrapping, I think, but was shortened to boot.

    Quicker to say "boot it" versus "turn the device on".
