Battery is not ok

Hi, I'm from germany, so sorry for my not so good written english.
My problem is that the battery of my S3 charges really slow and discharge when I use the phone during charging process. It discharges too fast when I'm not able to charge. When I turn it off and after a few seconds on again, ot probably has only 88%, before 100%. Now, what can I do to save a bit more of my power?

How old is the phone? The battery may be faulty. It may simply need calibration. Could you try another?

Wie alt ist das Telefon? Die Batterie kann defekt sein. Es kann einfach nur die Kalibrierung. Könnten Sie versuchen, einen anderen Akku?

The phone was changed for about half a year, but the battery is 1 year and 7 months old.
What do you mean with calibration?

And I can't try another battery for the next two weeks because I'm on a holiday trip, and so I ask what I can do without changing or rebuying something.

I agree with belodion's suggestion that the battery may be wearing down. If you are traveling with any friends with an S3, you could ask them if you could swap batteries temporarily, and see if the phone behaves more normally. If so, then you know your battery is the problem.
