How do you disable text-to-voice on a galaxy 3 phone?

AC Question

I recently bought a text on Google Books which I thought was an audio book that would read aloud. It (Quijote) turned out to be more of a book for just reading than one that directly went to voice. So I then try to use the text to voice features and land up going in the Settings and changing all functions to text to voice. Now when I click on something, it reads to me what the icon is but won't let me access the actual icon. The best I am able to do is to reach the galaxy voice "Hi Galaxy" function and I think that I can access the turn off this weird text to voice function if I had the specific order for "Hi Galaxy." I know that it is not the Hands-free mode as I am told that it already is turned off when I direct the system to turn off text to voice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there a way for me to read the damn book with audio and not completely disable me from using my phone? Thanks for any help.
