I've just spent the last 90 minutes searching for an answer that even remotely addresses my question, but I failed miserably.
My Boost Galaxy Rush 3G has always dropped 9 out 10 calls from inside my house (anywhere else, it's fine).
I never made a big deal about it, because when I'm in my house, I can just use my land-line phone.
If this matters, my device shows between -93 to -86 dbm 2 asu
I know less than nothing about Wi-Fi.
My phone has Wi-Fi and GPS in their "Location Services", but I've just had the Wi-Fi turned off for the last 18 months.
When I turned it on, it would show me half a dozen Wi-Fi networks which required passwords that I didn't have, so I said "screw it."
Yesterday, I changed my internet, cable, and land-line phone service.
Since I had a tech in my house, I asked him what Wi-Fi was all about, but since there was a language barrier I could not understand his explanation.
HOWEVER, he set up my own Wi-Fi network (with my own password), and now I have Wi-Fi on my phone.
Well, if you haven't drifted-off yet...Here's my question:
Will I have less dropped calls now?
I just read a whole bunch of stuff about Wi-Fi calling, but the directions said to do Settings/More settings/Wi-Fi Calling.
I don't have the "Wi-Fi Calling" option. In my "More Settings", I have Airplane Mode, Mobile Networks, Tethering, and VPN
In the "Mobile Networks", I have Mobile Data (which is check-marked) and Connections Optimizer. Under "Tethering", it just has Blue-Tooth tethering (UN-checked box: Not sharing this device's internet connection).
So, now that I have all of those pretty Wi-Fi arc-shaped bars (which I've never had before), will I drop less calls, or does it make absolutely no difference, regarding dropped calls?
