    Default S5 battery voltage question.

Stock battery is 3.85v and the aftermarket is 4.4v. Will the 4.4v battery cause damage?

Are you buying an extended battery?
It's recommended that you use a battery that is the same in terms of voltage, but I don't think it will be too much of an issue.

No extended battery. Just spares to be free of the charging cable.

And it's not the OEM battery? You can get those pretty cheap online. I'd recommend using those over third party batteries.

The problem is that I noticed the voltage being 4.4v after months of use. Guess ill buy batteries with the correct voltage if that is recommended.

Ah, OK. If you've had no issues so far I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Hey guys. The nominal (average) discharge voltage of a 1 cell lithium battery is 3.85v while the peak (fully charged) voltage is 4.4v This is slightly higher than other Lithium batteries that I've used for high discharge applications. Normally peak voltage for LiPo is 4.20v, LiIon 4.10v. In other words third party batteries are definitely compatible and run the same voltage. Look on your charger block once, it'll say something like 1.0A/4.40v
